How much AirStone do you need to complete your project?

We make it easy — just contact us.

Simply email us your wall dimensions. You can even send us a photo of your wall (with dimensions) and we’ll help you figure out how much AirStone and adhesive you’ll need (and regarding adhesive...one tub of AirStone Interior Adhesive covers approximately 30 square feet.  For exterior projects, one 28 oz. tube of Loctite PL Premium Construction Adhesive covers approximately 7-10 square feet).

Or, for you do-it-yourselfers...

Finding out how much AirStone you need is not unlike measuring for wallpaper. You need to determine how large your surface area is in square feet.

For Flat Walls

To cover flat wall space, use the Primary Wall Stone
Let's assume you want to use AirStone to cover only WALL A.

1. Measure the width and height of the entire wall (include the window).
Then multiply: 60 inches x 96 inches = 5760 inches.
Next, to determine square feet: 5760 ÷ 144 = 40 square feet.

2. Measure the width and height of the window.
Then multiply: 32 inches x 36 inches = 1152 inches.
Next, to determine square feet: 1152 ÷ 144 = 8 square feet.

3. Since the window won't be covered with AirStone, subtract the area of the window from the entire wall: 40 – 8 = 32 square feet.

WALL A is 32 square feet. Each box of Primary Wall Stones covers 8 square feet: (32 ÷ 8 = 4 boxes). You’ll need 4 boxes of AirStone Primary Wall Stone.

For Edges

To end a wall at the edge, use the Corner/Finished End Stone
Let’s assume you want to use AirStone to cover only WALL B.
Use the Corner/Finished End Stone to add a natural end up the edge of WALL B.

1. The edge is 8 feet tall (96 inches ÷ 12 inches = 8 feet). Each box of Corner/Finished End Stone covers six feet of edge, so you'll need 2 boxes of Corner/Finished End Stone. However, a box of Corner/Finished End Stone also covers 7.5 square feet of wall space. So remember to subtract the area covered by the Corner/Finished End Stones from any additional Primary Wall Stone you may need*.

2. Measure the width and height of WALL B.
Then multiply: 16 inches x 96 inches = 1536 inches.
Next, to determine square feet: 1536 ÷ 144 = 10.7 square feet. WALL B is 10.7 square feet.

* The 2 boxes of Corner/Finished End Stone cover 15 square feet. Since WALL B is 10.7 square feet, the 2 boxes of Corner/Finished End Stone will cover WALL B and provide a natural finished end along the entire wall edge.

For Corners

To go around a corner, use the Corner/Finished End Stone
Let’s assume you want to use AirStone to cover both WALL B & WALL C.

1. The corner is 8 feet tall (96 inches ÷ 12 inches = 8 feet). Each box of Corner/Finished End Stone covers six feet of corner, so you’ll need 2 boxes of Corner/Finished End Stone.

WALL B is 10.7 squarefeet.

3. Measure the width and height of WALL C.
Then multiply: 12 inches x 96 inches = 1152 inches.
Next, to determine square feet: 1152 ÷ 144 = 8 square feet. WALL C is 8 square feet.

So WALL A & WALL B = 18.7 square feet (10.7 + 8).

* The 2 boxes of Corner/Finished End Stone cover 15 square feet. So subtract 15 from 18.7 = 3.7 square feet remaining. One box of Primary Wall Stone covers 8 square feet. You’ll need 1 box of Primary Wall Stone along with 2 boxes of Corner/Finished End Stone.
